As for agriculture, hazelnut crops are the most important product
(DOP the hazelnut of Reus). They have even surpassed vineyards (DOP
Tarragona) and olive trees (DOP Siurana), and in particular carob
and cereals. Over the last decades, irrigation has become popular
thanks to the reservoir of Riudecanyes.
It is also important to highlight the poultry industry, as today
it boasts over 2,000 developments and produces a very important
quantity of chicken, and also fishing which is concentrated on the
ports of Cambril and Hospitalet de L'infant, areas which are the
focus of tourism lead expansion.
